Friends, Family, and Columbia Community, we need your help!
This is real. It is a time unlike any of us ever expected or could have planned for, and our industry is in serious need.
We’re not asking for a bailout, we’re not even asking for money for our businesses, we’re asking for you to help take care of our Homies. The people that keep our businesses running. The cooks, dishwashers, food runners, servers, bartenders, hosts, cleaners, baristas, and everything in between. These are the people that matter most and their also the ones most at risk of financial ruin.
We’re all working on our options regarding Federal and Local relief but none of us know when that will happen and a lot of people need help right now.
Here’s the deal, NONE of us like asking for help, but we need it. We will get through this, and Columbia will once again be the place we all know and love, but not if we don’t come together and unite as a community to save the things and people we love the most. This is not about politics, or opinions, or likes, or dislikes, this is about integrity and compassion.
Think of this like an Employee Relief Fund.
If you’ve ever asked a restaurant for a donation for your fundraiser, now is your time to repay. If you’ve ever skimped on a tip, whether they deserved it or not, now is your time to pay it back. If you are one of the lucky ones who’s industry is relatively safe through all of this, give something while you can. If you just plain and simple give a shit, give a buck too. We’re not asking for you to give your life’s savings, just something.. Think about it, if every single resident in Columbia, MO gave $10, the average price of lunch, we could raise over $1,000,000.00. That’s WAY more than we need, but the example is true.
How and What are we going to do with this $?? Good question. We are setting up a fund that all food service people can use to see relief from necessary bills during this time and until we can get things back on track in the world. A server that’s been laid off temporarily and is struggling to pay rent, a dishwasher whose car payment is already 35 days late. You get the point. We, as restaurant owners, will work with each other to determine how and what we can do. We can assure you this will NOT go to pay for any aspect of any business. This is for the Homies.
As a secondary goal, some of us are already providing meals to kids and families that are suffering right now, as well as our overworked healthcare professionals, and even some of our Homies that need a decent meal while they’re struggling with other parts of life. Any and all money not being used for the Homies will go to fund these Family Meals. If this trying time has shown us anything, it’s that our Community is real, and it is here to support our own. Help us do some good together when our people need it the most.
Here’s what you can do:
Give a little, or give a lot! Choose the amount you’d like to give, and know that every dollar counts.
Tell your friends, your neighbors, and your family. Get as many to give as you can.
ALL OF YOUR FEES GO TO BUILD THIS TOWN! We will need the Ag Park and everything it provides more than ever when this is all over.
That’s it, it’s that easy. Thank you for being the community we need!!
PS..For those curious why we aren’t using a Fundraising Campaign like GoFundMe, Every Event Gives is the creation and is owned and operated by one of our very own right here in Columbia. Every amount of local support counts.
PPS..There’s no event. Only much needed help. EveryEventGives is giving us the money each week so we can get it to where it is needed.
